3 Star Alternative School Rating

Description of this type of school/schooling method:
This is for high school aged students who are very intelligent and hate going to high school. If you have high test scores, many colleges wiil take you.

Advantages:
You choose your own program. You escape from high school. You take breaks when you want to. Many public colleges and Universities are cheaper than private schools. This is a chance to explore your interests. You can work or volunteer part-time.
People will encourage you not to drop out of high school saying the colleges won't take you, but they are wrong. Colleges look at the whole person, and will admit you specially.

Challenges:
You will be younger than other people. You may make serious mistakes with your freedom. No high school reunions (BooHoo). The college can kick you out for any reason and you have no recourse because they admitted you specially. Not knowing what to say when people ask "where did you graduate from?" or "Did you drop out?" You almost have to graduate from college now to have a good career.

Tuition/Costs:
$2,500/year or less

Other comments regarding tuition/costs:
Cheaper than Private School.

Additional comments or suggestions:
I did it, my cousin did it. No I don't regret those two years I didn't spend in High School. But I do regret some mistakes I made with my freedom, like hanging out with druggies and having sex. It's okay to be "uncool." Those cool people either end up being losers or regetting their mistakes. I would join a nice club if I could do it over again.
