Description of this type of school/schooling method:
One of the hottest new methods of education is Educational Computer Software in one form or another. It involves having the student access prerecorded teaching video and worksheets via the computer. One very good example is Distance Learning content that is prepared with software and video. Software Education also comes in the form local servers or CD-ROMs which decreases costs by eliminating high connection charges usually associated with long Distance Learning.
Advantages:
While Computer Software Education certainly does not eliminate the need for human interaction and supervision in education, it does usually reduce personnel needs which is a great cost savings. Software Education has also proved in studies to greatly improve student comprehension and learning over traditional methods.
Challenges:
There are up front costs involved with getting the equipment to do this kind education. There is also a considerable cost involved in the software and video as well. Fortunately, most schools and even homes have much of the equipment that is needed already.
Tuition/Costs:
$2,500/year or less
Other comments regarding tuition/costs:
This will vary greatly depending on the software that is used.
Additional comments or suggestions:
There is a lot of great software and video out there. Some not-for-profit organizations are beginning to partner with the software and video providers. This may allow them to be able to deliver a complete curriculum from one place with certification of some kind. One example of this is:

The best software I have seen so far for Mathematics and English Grammar is:
