Description:
Provides refreshments at meetings, acts as the "meet and greet" group.

Duties:
Provides refreshments for events such as meetings or programs, manages the front table to welcome and/or sign-in attendees as needed. Should the committee be small, it may require contacting other parents to bring refreshments.

Time needed:
Varies depending on the activities of the school. Prior to each event, several hours may be needed to plan refreshments and to either buy/bake or make phone calls asking parents to contribute. On the day/evening of the event, 1-2 hours may be needed to set out refreshments and organize the front table for welcoming and/or sign-in.

Characteristics/skills needed:
Creativity--Ability to develop new and interesting ideas.
Dependability--Can be counted on to complete tasks.
Resourcefulness--Finds inventive ways to complete a project.

Helpful tools:
pretty baskets or trays

tablecloths

flower arrangements or creative centerpieces

Lifespan of committee:
As needed throughout the school year.

If you love to bake (or eat), this is your committee! It also enables you to meet new people and stay involved in all school activities.

Involving the kids:
Kids may help set up the refreshment and welcoming tables the evening of the event.

If phone calls are being made for contributions, kids may help keep a list of who has been called and who is contributing an item.
