Description:
Coach a group of students participating in Odyssey of the Mind or help judge competitions of groups from many schools.

Duties:
Communicate to the student body the enjoyment that comes from solving problems on a team and encourage participation.
Serve as a coach to groups of 5 to 10 students. You will guide them to do their own work on a limited budget and be available to answer questions that encourage them to think! You will help them work to solve a ôlong-termö problem and practice to quickly solve another problem.
Communicate to the parents of the students in your group about meetings, extra practices, and other happenings.

Time needed:
2-3 hours/week.

Characteristics/skills needed:
Flexibility--Can work with all kinds of people and adjust to changes in a plan.
Money skills--Uses money judiciously and can stay within a budget.
Organization--Can make a logical order out of many competing interests.
Resourcefulness--Finds inventive ways to complete a project.

Lifespan of committee:
October to March.

Personal benefits:
Interaction with children after school.
School Spirit.
Learn about programs at other schools.

Involving the kids:
This builds team skills at the student level.
