Description:
Run program for kids to collect pennies on a class by class basis.
Duties:
Acquire or build a safe, secure container for the pennies to be collected over a period of time. Provide each class with smaller containers to use before putting pennies in the large container.
Set a calendar date to weigh the pennies collected by the class.
Using a scale, weigh the pennies of each class to determine which class brought the most.
Place all the pennies in the one large container after the ôPenny Weigh In.ö
Award the winning class with some prize, i.e. a snack during a set day or a mini-party.
You can advertise the prize before the weighing day to increase participation.
Get money bags from the bank and deliver to the bank at the end of the fundraiser.
Time needed:
3 hours per month maximum. Depending on the lifespan of the campaign, it may take 4-6 hours of your total time to get the coins to the bank.
Characteristics/skills needed:
Creativity--Ability to develop new and interesting ideas.
Math Skills--Good with numbers.
Mechanical Skills--Good with tools and using one's hands.
Organization--Can make a logical order out of many competing interests.
