Description:
Responsible for bringing performers and assemblies into the school, such as magicians, science shows, musical programs, anti-drug performances, etc.

Duties:
Communicate with your local arts council for resources, financial and artistic.
Contact past and new resources for programs and performers.
Work with school staff to coordinate the Cultural Arts schedule.

Time needed:
The committee may meet several times while planning the programs and assemblies.
Initially, several hours at various times may be needed to contact and schedule performances.
A committee representative needs to be on hand prior to and during performances.

Characteristics/skills needed:
Flexibility--Can work with all kinds of people and adjust to changes in a plan.
Resourcefulness--Finds inventive ways to complete a project.

Lifespan of committee:
School year.

This committee will give you a great idea of what artistic resources are within traveling distance of your school. You'll meet and talk with a variety of creative and talented people. You'll get to see some wonderful shows!

Involving the kids:
Kids are a great resource for letting you know what they like and dislike û last year's magician was lame, the science guy was cool, etc.
