Description:
Book Fairs in schools provided by Scholastic Book Fairs. Brings cases of books and other merchandise which is for sale into the schools. Portion of sales can be taken in cash for school profit.

Duties:
Setting up fair, running fair, and fair breakdown. Requires parent volunteers to help carry this out successfully.

Time needed:
Book fair can run as long as school wishes. Average book fairs last anywhere from 3-10 days.

Helpful tools:
ALl of the Characteristics/Skills listed are helpful.

Lifespan of committee:
2-4 weeks per book fair during school season

Personal benefits:
Satisfaction of knowing that a fundraiser is putting books into the hands of children.

Involving the kids:
Children can be involved with creating merchandising and promotional signage and displays to help promote the book fair.

Other comments or suggestions:
EXCELLENT FUND RAISER! Not only gives profit to schools, but puts books into the hands of children, thereby contributing to their reading skills.
