Description:
To behave well in new situations, kids need practice. You can't expect a child who has never dined out to know what is acceptable behavior in public. Even if your first few excursions are disastrous, don't take this as a sign that you should never venture out. Introducing your child to new situations is a critical part of their development. The key is to not set your expectations too high. If you are stressed about taking your child out in public, she may sense this and become agitated. Don't act as if the world will come to an end if things don't go exactly as planned. People are usually very understanding when young children are involved. It takes some children longer than others to adapt to new surroundings. With a little patience and practice, you'll become an expert in restaurant hopping.
