Description:
These are similar to Sloppy Joes, with just a little more sophisticated flavoring. They are great served with corn on the cob (or off, your choice!) and baked beans and take almost no time to prepare!
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef 1/2 cup frozen chopped green pepper 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce 1/4 cup frozen chopped onion 1 tablespoon dijon-style mustard 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce 3 hamburger buns
Instructions:
1. Place ground beef, green pepper and onion in skillet and cook over medium high heat till meat is browned and veggies are tender. 2. Drain off fat. 3. Stir in tomato sauce, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. 4. Bring mixture to boil, then reduce heat. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. 5. While meat is cooking, split hamburger buns and toast under broiler. 6. Divide meat mixture among toasted bun halves for an open-faced sandwich. 7. Serve with baked beans and corn.
