Describe this playground safety tip:
It's really important to notice what the surface under and around playground equipment is made of. Playground surfaces should be made up of 12 inches or more of a loose fill material, like hardwood chips, mulch, sand, pea gravel, or shredded tires, or else mats made of safety-tested rubber or rubber-like materials.

Other comments or suggestions:
Seventy-five percent of playground injuries are caused by falls, so safe playground surfaces are critical!
