Size range:
Extra Large: 40 inches and up; 65 pounds and up.

Kid-tolerance scale:
Excellent

Average lifespan:
8-10 years

Overall behavior of breed:
Boxers are usually very friendly and people oriented. They want to be with their people as much as possible.

Explain why this breed was good/not good with your kids:
We have 2 boxers with our infant daughter. The older of the two has been with children a great deal and is very tolerant and happy to be around them. The puppy is newer to it, but loves kids! She loves to play and run with them, as well as give kisses. The older one checks on her when he hears her cry. The puppy is deaf, so checks on her whenever she is near. They're very lovable and great to be around, as long as they're trained. They're big and playful, so they need to be well trained, especially with children around. Owners need to be OK with drool.

Typical colors:
fawn or brindle, many white ones are deaf

Does this breed shed?
Yes

Special grooming needs:
They're playful so can get dirty. You can make a game of getting be sprayed with the hose to bath them.

Daily exercise requirements:
We have a fenced in yard in which they run to get their excercise.

Other comments or suggestions
Again, they are a big and playful breed, so it is important to train them. Once you have one, you'll never want another breed!
