Explain why this breed was good/not good with your kids:
we have had 3 boxers. each of them have been playful, friendly, and affectionate. our son is now 5 and has grown up with our dogs. there has never been an issue with safety (other than explaining to him that he needs to be nice to the dog!)
Typical colors:
fawn with white markings
brindle with white markings
often black masks and dark brown/black ear tips
Does this breed shed?
Yes
Special grooming needs:
these dogs need very little grooming. they have very short hair, that does shed in between seasons. boxers are very clean, we bathe ours every 6 months or so, depending on the season and the activities we partake in.
Daily exercise requirements:
boxers are larger dogs and need room to run. not recommended for a place without secure running room.
Other comments or suggestions
boxers are extremely loyal friends. they are fairly short lived, lasting as little as 9 years. our family will continue to have boxers for pets as we find the a very friendly, loving, addition to our family.
