Size range:
Large: 25-40 inches; 35-65 pounds.

Kid-tolerance scale:
Excellent

Average lifespan:
?

Overall behavior of breed:
None barker, loves children, protector, extremely friendly, playful, non-aggressive

Explain why this breed was good/not good with your kids:
We had her since she was a pup. I ran a program with special needs children and she loved them all. She has a very gentle nature, non biter and very playful with the kids even at 10 years old

Typical colors:
Hounds come in different sizes and colours, but she is the medium size Hound (don't get them mixed up with beagles because beagles are barkers.... all day long) She was not trained for hunting, but did love exploring the open land and finding what she could. Ususally they are black mixed with brown, redbone, browns.

Does this breed shed?
Yes

Special grooming needs:
short haired, but if you brush daily, it helps

Daily exercise requirements:
loves to play with other animals or interact with people. You do not have to walk her daily, but she does enjoy the trails

Other comments or suggestions
I would recommend this breed of dog to anyone who has children because of her gentle nature
