Medium: 20-30 inches; 25-45 pounds.

Excellent

Average lifespan:
10 years

Overall behavior of breed:
Happy, eager to please, these dogs posess a "character of indomitable courage, high intelligence, and tenacity."(AKC Standard) They are people-friendly and of stable temparment.

Explain why this breed was good/not good with your kids:
They absolutely love children! They are known as the "nanny dog" in England. High pain tolerance and lack of people/food/property aggression mean kids can do just about anything to the dog without consequence.

Typical colors:
red, black, brindle, white

Does this breed shed?
Yes

Special grooming needs:
None. Very low maintanance. An all-around general purpose dog.

Daily exercise requirements:
Vigorous exercise each day

Other comments or suggestions
Given breed history, never let your Staffie mingle unsupervised with other dogs. Staffie owners need to be strong and consistent. Staffies are not happy to be "outside" dogs-they crave human contact.
