4 Star Dog Breed Rating

Size range:
Extra Large: 40 inches and up; 65 pounds and up.

Kid-tolerance scale:
Excellent

Average lifespan:
5-8 years

Overall behavior of breed:
Very docile and laid back.

Explain why this breed was good/not good with your kids:
We have a 7 month old baby, a 5 year old, a 7 year old and a 10 month old Bull mastiff. He has always been good with all three girls. He's large but VERY gentle. He lets the baby pull on his jowls and she even lays between his paws and he lays very still as if he knows he is much bigger than her. For us there is no other breed that compares.

Typical colors:
Fawn w/ black mask, Red, and Brindle

Does this breed shed?
Yes

Special grooming needs:
Brushing once a week and nail trimming as needed

Daily exercise requirements:
Not very much. Maybe a 30 minute walk or a play time. they tire out way before their humans.

Other comments or suggestions
They also make good apartment dogs because they rarely bark and need little exercise. They are very good with people but CAN be dog aggressive if not properly socialized.
