Size range:
Small: 10-20 inches; 15-30 pounds.

Kid-tolerance scale:
Very Good

Average lifespan:
Up to 15 years

Overall behavior of breed:
Fun loving, catches on quickly to commands and learns fast bad and good. Interesting colors and shapes in these dogs.

Explain why this breed was good/not good with your kids:
This dog is good for children because of its tolerance factor. The dog is a sturdily built dog, but also very playful. Isn't a big shaker, so doesn't look scared, thinks it's bigger than it actually is. Biggest issue is the toe stepping, gotta watch for these guys under your feet.

Typical colors:
Brindle (brown, black, tan), as well as black, brown , and any mixture of the two.

Does this breed shed?
Yes

Special grooming needs:
Nail cutting so that they can't scratch you...they get extremely excited when they see you, so just try and understand that they don't mean any harm.

Daily exercise requirements:
A run around the block, playing outside with children, also playing an indoor game of fetch.

Other comments or suggestions
This dog is great for people who live in small homes with not a lot of space for a dog. This pup may be small but thinks like a big dog. Not too great for apartments, a real yapper, so have a little patience with frustrated neighbors.
