Summer Balloon Toss

Equipment:
Water balloons VERY full

Lots of people of all ages

Description:
Two players are on a team and start 5 steps apart, facing each other.

Players toss a very full water balloon to each other and try not to get wet by letting the balloon pop on them as they catch it, or as they drop it.

As each team successfully catches the balloon, the players take one step backwards, increasing the gap between them, increasing the chances of getting wet.

When a balloon breaks, that team is out, and sits on the sidelines.
OBJECT OF GAME: See which team can get the farthest apart without breaking the balloon.

Rewards can be a certificate, or a piece of dessert, a crown made of construction paper, etc . . .

Other comments or suggestions:
This game is great for family reunions and neighborhood get-togethers.

Parents can participate, too! Brings great relief from midday heat, midsummer boredom, and puts a smile on everyone's face. Just be sure to pick up the pieces of balloons from the ground.
