Equipment:
A soccer ball End zones
Description:
Soccer was one of the very first team sports to be included in the Olympics. Why not be the first to host your own neighborhood soccer game?
Soccer is great because you can play one on one or divide the neighborhood into teams. The rules are simple. Kick the ball into the end zone, the team with the most points wins!
In the Olympics, the game consists of two forty-five minute halves of play. You can play two ways: Whoever scores the most goals in X amount of time wins, or the first team to reach X amount of goals wins. Remember that goals must be scored without the use of your hands or arms.
Other comments or suggestions:
You can make your own gold, silver and bronze medals with construction paper and ribbons.
Or rewards can be food based: ice cream, cookies, and chips.
Or rewards can be chore based: 1 free night no dishes, 1 free day of not making your bed, 1 extra hour of TV time.
Have fun with it. Let the family decide beforehand what today's Olympic rewards will be.
