Description:
Cycling is one of the simplest and most enjoyable activities around. You can bike alone or with friends and family. Get your exercise in and enjoy the scenery.
It's easy to create an Olympic sport that the entire family can enjoy. Bike around your cul-de-sac, to the end of your street or around the block. First person to cross the finish line at the end of the driveway wins! You can cycle solo or in teams.
Be creative when picking the teams. Play girls against boys, moms against dads, neighbors against neighbors. If there's a tie, break it the Olympic way by seeing who can sprint up your driveway or street the fastest. Winners can host the next summer BBQ!

Other comments or suggestions:
You can make your own gold, silver and bronze medals with construction paper and ribbons.
Or rewards can be food based: ice cream, cookies, and chips.
Or rewards can be chore based: 1 free night no dishes, 1 free day of not making your bed, 1 extra hour of TV time.
Have fun with it. Let the family decide before hand what today's Olympic rewards will be.
