Equipment:
1. A large amount of space
2. Slips of paper for however many people there are playing times two (5 people/10 slips)
2. A way to pass the paper around (hat, bucket, etc.)
3. Creative names... For example: Lets say you have five people playing (2 male 3 female). You need one detective who ever it may be. As for the rest, make stuff up. You could have Mrs. Witherspoon the very quiet and mysterious librarian who sits practically on peoples laps and who only qoutes from books she knows, when in conversation. (When she is asked a question... her responses don't always have to make sense.) Madam Rockaffeller, who never shuts up and is obsessed with shoes, her dog, and chocolate.(Usually when she dies people cheer.) Mr. Quibbles, who always stands as if to look down on everybody. And is constantly interrupted whenever he tries to tell someone "what happened in his day..." Stuff like that. Make sure everyone knows the characters picked.
Description:
To play, write the names of the characters on the slips of paper plus one that says detective and one that says murderer. Leave the rest blank. Put the character slips in one container (not counting detective and murderer) and the rest in another. Pass one container around then collect the slips back once everyone has looked at their slip. Then pass the other container and repeat. Men do not have to be male characters and same for women. This gets the laughs started. Now everyone should have characters and someone should also be the murderer and detective. Example: Someone picked the Mrs. Witherspoon paper and the murderer paper. Thus, Mrs. Witherspoon is the murderer.(Go figure :)
Now people start acting like their characters but you have to look at everyone. Whoever got the slip that said murderer on it has to make eye contact with people and wink. This kills them. (Die dramatically) The detectives job is to find the murderer before everyone is dead or he/she is killed. The detective gets three guesses uless its a really small group such as five or six then it's one guess. If the murderer is found or the detective killed, start again.
