Description:
A decorative basket filled with a complete dinner for teacher and family. Of course, ask the teacher's colleges before creating menu to find out their favorite foods, beverages etc...

Preparation:
Create a menu, including beverage, appetizer, salad, dinner, dessert and bread. Also, choose a theme like Italian, etc. Enlist the help of parent volunteers to prepare one item on menu, organize a day to assemble basket and present to the teacher, preferably at the end of the day due to potentially perishable items.

Other comments or suggestions:
An inexpensive tablecloth works well as a basket liner. Last year, we did an Italian dinner. The basket was lined with a red and white checked table cloth (found at the dollar store). The meal consisted of: antipasti, salad, bottle of salad dressing, stuffed shells (frozen - they freeze well), cannoli, a bagette of bread, and the teacher's favorite beverage. We presented everything in the basket and wrapped each item with raffia. It was a big hit.
