Description:
Your teenager is ready to take on more responsibilities around the house in exchange for more money. Make a list of chores that you have a hard time getting to each week/month. Decide which of these tasks you would really like to see get some attention.

Place a money value on the chores and offer your teenager an opportunity to do them. Some ideas are ironing dress shirts, simple mending like sewing on buttons, cleaning out the garage, doing heavy yard work, cooking some family meals, or data entering of family finances on the computer.

Special items can be bought or saved for with that pay. Have your teenager track the amount of time it takes to earn the money for the purchase.

Talk with your teenager about the value he or she puts on personal time to get these special items and what he or she is willing to do to get it.
