I've sent out a flier to my neighbors 3 - 4 weeks ahead of time letting them know I was planning a sale, inviting them to throw out a table and join me. This way we're able to advertise a a "Neighborhood Yard Sale", which draws more traffic. This last time we even had a Kids' Lemonade Stand, a Craft Table and a Bake Sale. It was the talk of the town!! We're thinking of making it an annual thing!

Materials:
Print out flier and distribute to neighbors' mailboxes.

Other comments or suggestions:
Also, by letting the neighbors know which date your sale is taking place, they can expect the increased traffic and people in the neighborhood, if they aren't participating.
