Description:
Advertising is all important when hosting a yard sale. Shoppers not only need to know you are having the sale but also when and where it will take place. Putting yard sale signs on street corners a day or two ahead of time really helps to draw in the crowds. Adding inflated balloons to your signs the day of the sale is a quick and easy way to capture the attention of potential shoppers. Use sturdy cardboard and very thick markers or paint for the lettering. Either draw arrows on your signs or cut them out in the shape of arrows and position them to point in the direction of the sale! Keep your sign info simple. "YARD SALE - 125 N. ELM STREET - 8am - 1pm" is brief and to the point, and decreases chances of accidents while drivers are reading your sign. But don't stop at street signs! You can also put up advertisements on bulletin boards in your community (grocery stores, community centers, etc.).
