Description:
When people go bargain hunting at yard sales, many like to hit several in one morning. If there are five or six yard sales in one area (even if it is an area a bit out of the way), shoppers will likely start in that neighborhood because it saves driving time and because they can see more things in a shorter amount of time. Take advantage of this fact and encourage your neighbors to schedule yard sales all on the same day. Assure them that they can not only get their garages, attics and closets cleaned out but make a little (and maybe a lot) of money at the same time. If that doesn't convince them, tell them that an added bonus is that it will get the kids outside and away from the TV and will promote a sense of community within the neighborhood. Plus, when you get several houses to go in together on a sale, you can pool your money for advertising and purchase a large ad in bold type. A large ad gets attention and draws customers and that's just what you want, isn't it?
