1. Remove all furniture from the room.2. Using a pencil, draw a wavy line all the way around the room about one third the way up the wall.
3. Mask all moldings below the wavy line with masking tape.
4. Lay plastic tarp and secure with masking tape.
5. Use 2? brush and green paint to cut in around moldings and inside wavy line.
6. Fill in space below the wavy line with more green paint.
7. After green paint has dried, use black paint and artist brush to paint primitive train track going around the room on top of the green, grassy hills. Make the track wavy and loop around itself in some places. It should be about 3? wide from rail to rail. Slats should be about an inch apart.
8. Paint a train on one section of the track with primary colored acrylics. Trains are easy to paint if you just use a series of geometric shapes. First, paint rectangles for the cars (each one a different color and about 8?long by 5? tall), then use black paint to make the wheels (remember to put a small wheel on the front of the engine). Put a triangle on the front of the engine as the grill and a 4? square on top of the first (engine) rectangle, then a vertical rectangle (2? wide by 3? tall) on top of the square as the smoke stack. (Don? forget your smoke!) Now, fill the cars with things like coal or toys.
9. Hang your wallpaper border along the ceiling molding.
10. Return furniture to the room. Dress bed with plane and trains bedding.
11. Hang curtains.
12. Hang airplanes on the ceiling with fishing wire (make sure you clear the ceiling fan!).
13. Use large dump trucks as collection bins for smaller toys.
14. Hang growth chart and see how much your baby has grown up!
