Materials:
Several picture cards; for younger children you can use actual objects.
How to Play:
1)Lay out three objects or picture cards horizontally.
2)Tell your child to look carefully, and to try and remember what she sees. Encourage her to look for at least 7 seconds.
3)Cover up the objects or pictures. Ask her to name the covered up objects.

The average 9-11 year old should be able to remember a minimum of 5 pictures in order.
Variations:
You can make this game easier or harder by adding more pictures, or taking away some.
You can also ask the child to leave the room, or cover her eyes, while you add or take away one picture. When she comes in, she needs to guess what is missing or what is newly added.
What is the benefit to a child with learning problems?
This is a very practical game for helping a child who has visual memory issues.
If you find your child has trouble with spelling, frequently misplaces her belongings, then this game can help him or her.
