Snow cones/shaved ice are a kid (and adult) pleasing favorite. Making them is not difficult, with the right gadget and some flavorings. I put the details into "Recipes Kids Can Help Make" elsewhere in What Works; I am mentioning it here because it's such a kick to make red, white and blue shave ice (or any flavor, for that matter). If I keyboard every detail multiple times, my kids will start referring to me as ol' What's-Her-Name...so check out the aforementioned recipes pages, well worth the visit anyway!
