Materials:
Pineapple Melon (watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew melon) Strawberries Kiwi Melon baller Knife Cutting board Skewers A platter
Description:
Give your fruit some class, skewer, and serve on a platter!
Instructions:
1. Rinse fruit in water.
2. Place pineapple on the side.
3. Cut 3 inches down from the spiny pineapple top.
4. Set aside for centerpiece of platter.
5. Cut 1 inch off the bottom end.
6. Stand the pineapple up.
7. Shave off the outside skin.
8. Find the hard center core and begin cutting where flesh begins.
9. Cut all 4 sides.
10. Cut each 1/4 piece into 1-inch squares.
11. Place in a bowl.
12. Cut melons in half.
13. Clean out center seeds from a cantaloupe or honeydew melon.
14. Take melon baller and carve out perfect shapes (this is a great job for kids).
15. Place into a separate bowl.
16. Peel kiwi.
17. Cut into 1-inch slices.
18. Place in a separate bowl.
19. Remove stems from strawberries (depending on size of party and budget, the berries can be cut in half).
20. With your supervision, you and your kids can begin to spear (with sharp point) a ball of melon onto the skewer.
21. Push melon to the top (blunt end).
22. Add a piece of pineapple.
23. Push up to melon.
24. Spear kiwi vertically onto skewer.
25. Continue with a strawberry.
26. Leave space at the tip end; that is what you will spear into the pineapple.
27. Center your pineapple head on a tray (you may use doilies, greens, etc.).
28. Spear the kabobs into the pineapple.
29. Evenly distribute the skewers for balance.
30. Place as a centerpiece at the dessert table.
