The description below was contributed by: mommabear, on May 31, 2002 08:26:01PM

Estimated Time:
1-2 hours

Materials:
Your own sugar cookie recipe, or a pkg. of refrigerated dough to roll and bake, according to pkg. directions.

Red and Blue decorator sugars, sprinkles (mixed or separate), icings as desired.
(White cookies can definitely use a touch o' vanilla icing, and the Sprinkles look good on the white icing).

Description:
Roll, cut, and Bake heart-shaped cookies. Frost and Decorate. You can put 'em in a red or blue bowl, or perhaps even find patriotic plastic trays at places like Walmart.

I love heart shaped cookies Any time of year, but I swear: the concept for these didn't pop into my head. I saw a tub full of Red, White and Blue heart-shaped cookies at a military commissary, and immediately thought Yesssss! Kids and Parents can get into that. Sometimes the Simple things are the most fun in this life, eh? ;-)

So, you can buy that slice n'bake type stuff with a Flag design molded into the tube...or you can make your own Sweet recipe, in heart-shapes...or both!
Party On!!
