Description of tip or technique:
Being a new parent to a 20 month old girl and a Civil War Reenactor, I travel with my child quite often for more then six hour drives. I have found that if we start at her normal bed time (8:30 in our case) that she will stay awake for maybe an hour and talk to my wife and I, then want a cup and doze off to sleep.

Other comments or suggestions:
I like to have her diaper bag just below her carseat in the back so that when we make rest stops, I can unbuckle her and grab the bag at one time for a quick change.
