Description of tip or technique:
It's easy to feel overwhelmed trying to pack when a baby is part of the picture. Preparation is the key to traveling with a baby. Taking note of your daily routine with your child can help you recall all of the items you'll need to bring. Try to bring the minimum number of outfits you'll need and consider doing laundry as needed if possible. You can conserve space by packing enough items like diapers and formula to get you to your final destination and replenishing your supply when you get to where you are going. Of course, don't be so conservative that you run the risk of running out of any essentials while in route and do this only if you are certain these items will be available to buy when you need them.
Other comments or suggestions:
Though baby carriers, strollers and car seats are bulky and difficult to pack, they are essential in getting around with small children. Many rental car companies have infant car seats available. You may also be able to find baby rental stores that carry other items like strollers, cribs/bassinets, high chairs and even baby swings. Hotels may also be able to provide you with certain baby equipment. However, if you can't make arrangements to rent or borrow the kind of equipment you need, be prepared to bring it with you.
