Description:
Create a poem to describe how much you appreciate your teacher. Add thought and care to your words by placing it onto a special piece of fabric for your teacher to keep forever.

Instructions:
1. Make a list describing what makes your teacher so special.

2. Think about how you can arrange those ideas into a poem.

3. Find easy rhyming words to end each line.

4. Practice writing your poem over and over to perfect your penmanship.

5. When you are comfortable with your handwriting, transfer the poem onto a piece of linen with a fabric pen.

6. Let set.

7. Take a dowel and measure 1 inch in from each end and mark with a pencil (dowel should be at least 1 inch longer than width of fabric).

8. Drill holes where you placed the mark. The hole should be thick enough for cording to thread through. Drilling requires adult supervision.

9. Thread cording through both holes of dowel.

10. Tie a knot at each end.

11. Place a thin line of glue on the dowel and glue the top of the linen (with poem facing out) to it.

12. Place a thin line of glue to another dowel and glue the bottom of the linen to it.

13. Let dry.

14. Wrap your poem with a piece of ribbon.
