Materials needed:
Butter
Flour
Sugar
Eggs
Vanilla
Powdered sugar
Food coloring
Lemon juice
Decorator bag
Bowls
Spoons
Baking sheet
Rolling pin
Mason jar
Circle cookie cutter
Unused paintbrushes
Cookie tin
White tissue paper
Note card
Pen

Description:
Make your teacher smile with specially designed #1 cookies!

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375¦.
2. In a bowl, mix 1 lb. of softened butter with 1 cup of sugar.
3. Separate 3 eggs, beat the mixture, and then add in the 3 yolks (save egg whites for icing).
4. Add 2 tsp. of vanilla and beat.
5. Slowly add 4 cups of flour.
6. Let dough chill for 2 hours.
7. Roll dough out 1/4 inch thick onto floured board (if dough seems too sticky, add a little extra flour).
8. Cut out cookies with Mason jar or circle cookie cutter.
9. Place on baking sheet.
10. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
11. Let cool.
12. Lightly beat 3 eggs whites.
13. Slowly add powdered sugar to eggs, about 1/2 to 1 box of powdered sugar (icing should not be runny, yet not too thick).
14. Add 1 tsp. of vanilla and 1 tsp. of lemon juice.
15. Add food coloring.
16. Paint icing onto cookies.
17. Let dry.
18. With excess icing, add powdered sugar to mixture to thicken it.
19. Texture should stick to spoon.
20. Add darker food coloring for this icing to stand out on the cookies.
21. Place icing in a decorator bag (you can use a Ziploc bag and cut a tiny hole in it if you donÆt have a decorator bag).
22. Write ô#1ö on each cookie.
23. Let dry.
24. Place cookies in cookie tin that has been lined with tissue paper.
25. Make a card that lets your teacher know that he or she is #1!
