Estimated time to complete activitiy:
1-2 hours

Materials needed:
Paper, markers, stickers, pens , large foam core poster board. You could also use computer and have access to a die cut maker.

Description:
Have each child write their name on the heart with or without a message. Display on poster board with leaves so they are arranged like flowers comming out of the flower pot. Write teacher quotes on larger leaves, or nice sayings about the teacher. Embellish with small bees or butterfly stickers.

Instructions:
Die cut a heart shape for each student (class parent hearts optional)and a large flower pot shape (I used a terracotta color paper). Arrange the hearts on the poster board so it looks like they are growing out of the flower pot. Add leaves. On the leaves write quotes about teaching. Continue to embellish by adding stickers or craft findings such as small bees or butterflies.

Other suggestions or comments:
I also added a boarder that included messages about teachers week and how much fun it was to be in class and what a great teacher she is using strips of paper around the edge. I also pasted a dedication on the back of the project. Other teachers came to me and said they were jealous of what we had given the teacher.
