Estimated time to complete activitiy:
3 - 5 hours

Materials needed:
Flower pot, craft foamies, photo of each child in class, long green pipe-cleaners, scissors, glue (hot glue works best & dries faster), dried split-peas (enough to fill flower pot to within 2 inches of top)

Description:
Flower pot full of flowers with each child's face at the center of the petals.

Instructions:
Take a photo of each child in the class and cut a circle around the childs face. Cut the craft foamies into flower shapes (use a cookie cutter as a template if needed). Glue the circle with the childs face to the center of the flower. Next, glue the pipe-cleaner to the back of the flower to make your stem. Repeat these steps for each child in the class. Fill the flower pot with the split-peas and begin arranging your flowers in the pot.

Other suggestions or comments:
If there are many students in the class, you may want to cut the stems on some of your flowers so that all of the children's faces are visible.

You can also get stick-on foam letters to personalize the flower pot ("Mrs. Fox's Garden"). Add a little note that reads, "Thanks for helping us bloom."

This idea is also great for Grandparents!
