Estimated time to complete activitiy:
30 to 40 minutes

Materials needed:
Glass vase, peace lily, beta fish, decorative glass beads, small plastic cup. Amquel drops.

Description:
When completed it becomes an aquarium for a fish as well as a decorative plant for the teacher's desk.

Instructions:
To prepare the plant, cut it to a size to fit into the plastic cup. The cup will hold the plant in place, therefore, you will need to cut a hole in the bottom of the cup. Be sure to rinse all the soil from the roots, because the roots will become a source of food for the beta. Place decorative beads inside the vase. Fill the vase with tap water. Place a few drops of amquel in the water you have placed in the vase. Let stand for about 20 minutes. Place the beta in the vase. Place the plant in the top of the vase.

Other suggestions or comments:
I have made several of these wonderful gifts for friends and family. They last a very long time with the proper care. I even tie a decorative ribbon around the vase according to the holiday. You may even use sea shells in place of the beads.
