Estimated time to complete activitiy:
5 min. to assemble, need several weeks of bulb prep.

Materials needed:
large flower vase or tall decorative metal tin
narcissus bulbs or other forceable spring bulbs
ribbon
gift card

Description:
Delivering a vase with bulbs in November allows the students to watch the flowers grow. What is nicer than spring flowers blooming in the winter?!

Instructions:
Purchase bulbs in the fall and keep in the refridgerator for several weeks.
Place as many bulbs as will fit easily in the bottom of the vase. Do not stack them.(You may use soil, gravel, or marbles if you wish but you don't need anything.)
Water and watch them grow.

Other suggestions or comments:
If using a metal tin, be sure it doesn't leak!
If the vase is too short, you may wish to provide some sort of stake to prop the flowers up.
