Description of support system:
If you want to find out what really goes on in the classroom, volunteer to be a class mom. You'll see first hand how the teacher interacts with the students and how the students interact with each other.

How it works:
Talk to your child's teacher and volunteer to help out during the next field trip or big school event. Teachers are always looking for chaperones for buses and field trips and extra bodies are always welcome at the school dance.
Volunteering in the classroom is a great way to see how your child spends his/her day and to witness your child's relationships to his peers and teachers. It's also a great way to meet other parents and to get a little more one-on-one time with the teachers, especially if you are concerned about an academic or social weakness.
