Description of support system:
The pursuit of the American dream and the right job opportunity has today's families on the move. If a job change has taken you away from your family and friends, joining a church or synagogue can be a great way to develop a new support system.

How it works:
Before you commit yourself to the nearest church, spend some time visiting different houses of worship. If you have preschool children, you may want to look for a church that offers a mommy's playgroup. Or if your children are older, find out if they have well-attended youth programs such as youth group, junior choir or other nurturing activities. For parents, most churches offer bible studies, choir, potluck suppers and participation in their various committees.
A church or synagogue is a great way to spend regular time together as a family and also to help you feel part of your new community.
