Description of support system:
It seems a bit ridiculous when we are all going back and forth to the same destinations several times a day not to coordinate our efforts. Carpooling is great way to make friends, de-stress our schedules and it's good for the environment. Here are some of the secrets that help ensure successful carpooling and some safety tip issues to consider.

How it works:
Before you start carpooling with other parents, it's a good idea to meet together to discuss the rules, discipline and safety issues. Make sure the kids know where and when they are to be picked up and dropped off. Make sure they know who will be picking them up and give them spare change to make a phone call if necessary. Every driver should carry emergency numbers of the children and parents for any unexpected delays and changes. Let the kids listen to their own music if it helps to keep the noise and bickering to a minimum. And wait until every child gets into the door of their home.
Be safe. Everyone should wear a seat belt. Kids under 13 should not be allowed to sit in the front passenger seat, especially if there is an air bag. Make sure everyone understands the rules in your car: no yelling, no arms out of the windows, etc. and enforce them. Don't use your cell phone while driving. Check other parent's driving records by asking them directly or do a confidential check with the DMV. Every driver in the carpool must have up-to-date auto insurance. And you may want to check with your attorney to discuss liability issues particularly liability agreements among parents and your current liability coverage.
