Infant

Description of technique:
Making sure both you and your baby are relaxed is critical for a successful feeding session. This isn't always easy to do especially when you are sleep deprived and overwhelmed by many new experiences. However, babies can sense when you are stressed and can become agitated from your anxiety. Tension can also inhibit your milk production. Finding a quite place where you can breastfeed without distractions is key.

It's also important to calm your baby down before you put him or her to the breast. A hot and screaming infant will have trouble latching on to the breast and can make digesting more difficult.
