Description of technique:
This is more support rather than an actual technique.
I have two children under 21/2 yrs old and the longest I was able to breast feed for was 4 months! My first child was such a crying discontented
baby, or so I kept being told. I was told that the problem was even a "not wrapping her up tight enough for bed" problem. It makes me sad when I think back, she was so skinny and unhappy. And so was I as a result!(Unfortunately not the skinny part!) Sadly this could all have been avoided if I had listened to MYSELF! Simply, my baby wasn't getting enough; she was HUNGRY.
At 4 months I switched to bottle feeding and never looked back. Her weight increased dramatically to begin with (catching up, I guess) then progressed along nicely. Peace had been restored again! My opinion now, after another baby (b/f for 3 weeks) is that some of us are just not good cows!
I wish the professionals and society would BACK OFF
and stop putting so much pressure which turns into guilt when it doesn't work.

Other comments or suggestions:
Relax, and don't let people make you feel less of a mother
if breast feeding doesn't work for you. If there is a problem, ask the women in your family, you may find as I did that there is a history of bad milk supply. And remember, you can have an abundance of milk and still
have a hungry baby if the quality is poor.
