Description of technique:
Kids need to have a place within the world of middle and high school. Keep them on the right track by having them join school clubs, sports teams, and/or theater. The more involved your child becomes, the better adjusted and productive he or she will be.

Instructions:
1. Encourage your child to explore his or her talents and interests.
2. Suggest that he or she join a group or formalized club that encompasses his or her interests.
3. Have a gathering at your house to meet the group of kids working with your child .
4. Be inquisitive about your childÆs productivity.
5. Engage in conversations about the groupÆs goal.
6. Maybe there are ways that you can get involved to raise monies for a program or special trip for the group.
7. The more you stay involved in your childÆs life, the easier it will be for your child to stay focused.
8. The more focused and productive your pre-teen/teenager is, the easier his or her transition through this eventful time will be.
