Recommended age for technique:
From birth and up.

Description of technique:
Babies and children can sense when you are stressed and tired. If you try to rush them off to sleep, they will most likely sense your impatience and may resist your attempts to get them to nap or go to bed. If you find you are short on patience, try to have another adult put your baby or toddler down to sleep. Some families find it helpful to have the parents take turns putting the child to bed. This gives each of you some intimate one-on-one time with your child, while allowing the other person some free time to attend to other activities.
