Estimated time to complete gift:
Two hours to one year; it depends on how you go

Description of gift:
A calendar, either a purchased scrapbook one or a homemade one, with a photo and keepsake collection for each month.

Materials:
Photos from different seasons and holidays, birthdays, perhaps from different years, or just collected over the previous one. A blank calendar with an area for decorating each month. Glue, scissors, markers, ruler, colored paper for photo borders, if desired.

Instructions:
You can save pictures, tickets, etc., throughout the year or else root through the ones you have lying around in envelopes and boxes, cut out bits of them, making a collage by gluing them on the background mosaic-fashion, or doing it up scrapbook-style with colored borders for each. Every month Dad can see reminders of things he did with the kids or of special times past. And kids can mark special days on the calendar itself with markers, such as birthdays or the anniversary of a special event.

Other suggestions or comments:
This might be a good idea for a long-distance Dad, who would enjoy photos of school, musical or sporting events he is unable to see regularly.
