4 Star Gift Idea Rating

Estimated time to complete gift:
variable

Description of gift:
Hand-crafted luggage tags for Dad, using only the most costly of materials! ;-)

Materials:
small margarine tub lids
permanent marking pens
stickers
hole punch
string

Instructions:
Punch one hole in the lid, so you won't have to punch it thru Art or Address later. Write important things like "World's Best Dad," "Hugs!" or just "Dad" with a heart design, smiles, other art, colorful stickers, on one side...and then put that other stuff like Dad's name, address, and phone number on the opposite side. (It might be a good idea to use a pre-printed label for that side, and protect it with a chunk of clear parcel tape.)

Other suggestions or comments:
Any sort of sturdy plastic lid would work; colored lids would make the bags that much easier to spot on a baggage carousel! The kids can create even nicer little cards (use plain index cards) to place Inside the bag for further bag ID, and a visible reminder of Love that Dad can see and touch when he can't be with the ones he loves.

If you can laminate them, tags could be made of index cards for interior and exterior. If they get beat up because Dad travels a lot, then he'll need new ones for next year...

String or yarn can be brightly colored, braided, beaded...kids will have ideas. Look at the keychains on their backpacks!!!
