4 Star Gift Idea Rating

Estimated time to complete gift:
1 1/2-2 hrs.

Description of gift:
Lemonade and cookies, at mid-afternoon.

Materials:
Festive/Fancy pitcher, glasses, plates, napkins, Lemonade (or iced tea, or both), and Cookies!
Serve Outdoors, if possible.

Instructions:
The type of cookies doesn't matter so much, as long as Dad is known to like them; they could even come from a bakery. Lemonade would ideally be made of fresh lemons, but some of the frozen concentrates are good, and you can always float a few lemon slices in the pitcher!!! ;-) Frozen pure juice is available in the freezer case, too; it will take the entire bottle to make a pitcher, but it's Very Good, the next best thing to the Real Deal, and probably twice as good as what you would get at the Food Court at the Mall (claiming to be Fresh).

Other suggestions or comments:
Just call it a Dad Celebration Party and sing "For...he's a jolly good Fellow!" If the kids squeeze the lemonade, video their efforts. Buy extra lemons if you are going Fresh; you will probably have to help a bit. If Dad takes a nap on his day, the smell of cookies (even slice and bake) might gently rouse him eventually. Videotape snoring dads at your own risk...
