Description of gift:
Every dad has a special pie, and fruit pies are especially delicious in the summer. Pick a family favorite to whip up for a Father's Day dessert.

Materials:
Flour
Butter
Water
Fresh fruit
Sugar
Nutmeg
Cinnamon
Lemon
Mixing bowl
Rolling pin
Spoon
Knives and pie plate

Instructions:
1. Fresh fruit works better than frozen. Some of my favorites are peaches, berries, and apples.

2. For a 9-inch pie you will need:

6-8 cups of fruit (thinly sliced for peach and apple)

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup flour

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (for peach and apple)

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for peach and apple)

1 teaspoon of lemon

3 tablespoons of butter

3. Mix sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and lemon in bowl, and then stir in fruit. 4. Let sit. 5. For a 9 inch 2-crust pie you will need: 2/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter 2 cups flour 1 teaspoon salt 4?5 tablespoons cold water 6. Cut butter into flour with two knives until your mixture forms tiny particles the size of peas. 7. Add salt. 8. Sprinkle in water 1 tablespoon at a time. 9. Toss with fork until all flour is moistened and pastry sticks together. 10. Gather pastry into a ball and place on floured surface. 11. Divide dough into two equal parts and roll 2 inches larger than the size of the pie plate. 12. Fold in half and place inside pie plate. 13. Unfold--evenly distributing the dough. 14. Press dough firmly against the bottom and sides of pie plate. 15. Add fruit mixture. 16. Dab pads of butter on top of mixture. 17. Roll top crust out 2 inches larger than pie plate. 18. Fold in half. 19. Unfold on top of mixture--evenly distributing the dough. 20. Trim overhanging edge of dough 1 inch from rim of pie plate. 21. Fold and roll dough under making it even with plate. 22. With a fork, press down lightly on dough around the entire circumference of pie plate. 23. Make four fork slits on top of pie. 24. Bake in preheated 425 degree oven for 40 to 50 minutes. 25. Enjoy!
