Appropriate age group(s):
Preschool and Younger
Elementary School
Middle School
High School & Beyond

Description of technique:
Throughout history, people's values have been at the top of the list of discussion topics. Parents need to know what they value and communicate what and why they hold those ideas to be so dear. "Know thy self---" then teach your children to examine themselves and others!

Other suggestions or comments:
Friends are not the same as associates or acquaintances. Most of the people one meets in school disappear after high school graduation.
